
Erik Øverland has more than 30 years international experience from Research, Education, Software Engineering, Scenario based Strategic Planning, HRM, Political Work and Business Administration.
He studied social anthropology, philosophy, sociology, and economics at the University of Oslo, Norway.
He is one of Norway's most experienced futurologists. He was project manager for the government project Norway2030 (1998-2001) and has conducted future studies for Norwegian and international agencies and companies.
He is Counsellor, special Envoy for Education and Research at the Norwegian Embassy in Berlin. Until recently he was a policy advisor to the Minister of Education and Research in Norway as an expert on knowledge transfer and innovation. Dr. Øverland has published several books and scientific articles about policy strategic issues.
Erik Øverland is visiting scholar at Institut Futur (Freie Universität Berlin) and has served as the President of the WFSF World Futures Studies Federation (2017-2025), the most acknowledged network for Futurists in the World, the WFSF is a UNESCO partner.
