Johanna Seelemann

Johanna Seelemann (b. 1990, Leipzig, Germany) is seen as one of the biggest upcoming talents of the contemporary design world. As a conceptual designer, she explores the mystification of ordinary consumer products. The results are optimistic proposals that make alternative future scenarios imaginable. She teaches at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and the Studio for Immediate Spaces (Sandberg Instituut, Amsterdam). She was shown internationally (Victoria & Albert Museum London, Villa Noailles Hyères, MAKK Museum Cologne), was shortlisted and won numerous awards (Icon Design's "100 Talents to Watch” 2019, Dezeen Awards 2023). Lectures and panels include The Entropic Dream, re:future lab, Berlin (2022), Holitopia 2023, re:future lab, Berlin (2023). Solo shows include The Fragile Human, re:future lab, Berlin (2022).
