HORTULANUS is the immersive exhibition corresponding to The Entropic Dream Symposium. It is the experimental space and nutritious substrate where all lectures, workshops, conversations and special events take place.

Hortulanus pieces are compostable furniture from low-tech materials. They use low-embodied energy resources (corn ears, straw and loam) to re-envision our relationship with nature.

The aesthetics of Hortulanus resists traditional connotations, going beyond vernacular and humble, to create a desirable and opulent object. The pieces celebrate the organic abundance of natural worlds.

The Designer:

Johanna Seelemann (b. 1990, Leipzig, Germany) is seen as one of the biggest upcoming talents of the contemporary design world. As a conceptual designer, she explores the mystification of ordinary consumer products. The results are optimistic proposals that make alternative future scenarios imaginable.
